Room Change
If you would like to request a room change, you may pick up a Room Change
Request Card at the Office for Residence Life.
Room Change - Roommate Conflict
If you would like to request a room change due to a roommate conflict, you
may pick up a Room Change Request card from the Office for Residence Life, however
you will be required to get your RA's signature on the card to verify that you have
discussed your situation with your RA. Residence Life will not accept Room
Change Request Cards from students desiring a room change due to a roommate conflict
without the RA's signature.
Details regarding how room changes are processed
It is important to know the following with regards to how
room changes are processed.
Freshmen Room Change Requests
- Students in triple room assignments will be given first preference
for openings which become available in freshmen halls, if there are no serious roommate
conflict situations pending.
-
Students with roommate conflicts, which cannot be resolved
will be given high priority with regards to facilitating room change requests.
- After detripling requests and roommate problems have been
accommodated, students looking for room upgrades will be given preference in the
order their Room Change Request Cards are received.
Upperclass Room Change Requests
- Students with roommate conflicts, which cannot be resolved
will be given high priority with regards to facilitating room change requests.
- After requests from students experiencing roommate problems
have been accommodated, students looking for room upgrades will be given preference
in the order of the date their Room Change Request Cards are received.
Note:
- We do not process Room Change Requests
based on the time a card was submitted. We review all cards processed on a
specific date and give all equal consideration.
- Students do not have to accept a room change offered to them
by the Office for Residence Life, if it is not what they desire. If a student
declines a room change, the student will not lose his/her place in order.
- Upper-class/transfer students residing at Pennswood Hall
will be given the same preference, as other upper-class residents with regards to
room change requests (please see above).
- The Office for Residence Life cannot predict when or if we will be able
to accommodate your room change request. All changes are dependent on
the number of vacancies confirmed after move-in and any housing
cancellations that come up throughout the year. If we have not contacted you
by phone, we do not have anything to offer you. If you have questions
regarding your room change request, please contact
marie.schauder@villanova.edu.
